The second day of the AWWA LitFest Abhivyakti Season-2 turned out to be as invigorating and engaging as the first-only with different colours and flavours for the bibliophiles and the art connoisseurs. The theme of the day was ‘KhulaAasman’ – very apt for an event which has provided an open platform for showcasing wide range of creative activities.
(MOREPIC1)The day commenced with the interview of Mr Shiv Aroor, a celebrated author, editor and anchor at India Today. Mr Aroor spoke about his association with the Olive Green. This was followed by Mrs Ravneet Bhinder, Regional President AWWA launching the book ‘The Jungle Book of Rhymes’ written by Mrs Jyotsna Atre.
The morning session commenced with ‘Chatroom/ Ikhtiyar-E-Khwab: Meet your Poet’ which witnessed poets sharing their compositions with the audience. This was followed by a literature theme based Kathak performance by Mrs Sucheta Shiv Kumar & troupe. Parallelly, at the ‘Madhyavarti’ auditorium, the proceedings of the day commenced with ‘Roobaroo Part-II: Meet Your Author’.
Post lunch session at ‘Rangayan’ commenced with ‘Kitabon Ki Zubani’ which featured Mrs Swapnil Pandey, Miss Simran Randhawa and Mrs Vandana Yadav narrating excerpts from their works. This was followed by the session ‘Mera Desh Meri Jaan’ featuring Mrs Anuradha Prabhudesai and Mrs Sartaj Lamba which focused on initiatives taken for the cause of soldiers and the need to do more.
(SUBHEAD)At ‘Madhyavarti’, a session commenced with ‘Zindagi Ek Safar’ which focused on travelogues and travelling experiences of the writers. The next session at ‘Madhyavarti’ was ‘Dream Big, Achieve Big’ which took forward the success stories of women entrepreneurs making it big despite all odds.
There were two workshops, the first at ‘Krishnayan’ auditorium was ‘Creative Writing’ by Mrs SutapaBasu, next was ‘Empowering Yourself to Articulate Your Aspiration’ by Mrs Anandita Roy, Dr Ritu Sharma & Mrs Priyanka Jaitly Judge.
‘Gazala’, a book by Mrs Suman Siwach was launched by the Regional President AWWA, Mrs Ravneet Bhinder, “Growth’ written by Mrs Sunita Choudhary was launched by Mr Rahul Singh.
A Nukkad Natak by NCC cadets, conversation with Rannvijay Singha of Roadies fame, a song performance and a musical performance by the Army Symphony Band added to the excitement through the day.
