(MOREPIC1)(SUBHEAD) Major Vikas Bhambhu, a resident of village Rampura alias Ramsara, who was martyred in an army helicopter crash on October 21 in Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, has topped in Airwing in the Defence Service College Staff Examination. One month and ten days before his martyrdom, the exam was held in Bathinda in September, the result of which was released recently.
In the exam, Major Vikas Bhambhu has been the All India Topper from the Air Wing of the Army. The exam result has increased the love and pride of the Major in his family and the citizens of the area.
Bhagirath Bhambhu, father of the Martyr, expressed pride in his son after the exam result was declared. He said that when his last paper was held on September 10, when he asked about passing in the paper, Vikas had said that the fight is not to pass the exam but to top India, which he did.
Bhagirath said that Vikas’s dream was to become a big officer in the army. To achieve this, he was working hard. After appearing in the exam in Bathinda, Major Vikas had returned to Jaipur after meeting his family members in his ancestral village Rampura. At that time, he had also told his family about becoming a big officer in the army. On the result of the exam, senior Army officers talked to Bhagirath and expressed pride in Major Vikas Bhambhu.
Major Vikas Bhambhu was cremated with full state honours on October 24 in the playground of the Government Higher Secondary School of the village.
