In order to strengthen the existing educational infrastructure of Post Graduate Govt. College, Sec-46, the emphasis has been given by the Chandigarh Administration to provide better educational facilities in the field of Information Technology.

With this vision, the Foundation stone laying ceremony of IT Block in Post Graduate Govt. College, Sector-46, U.T. Chandigarh was performed by Sh. Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab & Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh in the presence of Dr. Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator, Dr. Vijay N Zade, Secretary Engineering.

The IT Block in Post Graduate Govt. College, Sector-46, U.T. Chandigarh having covered area of 23936 Sft., which will be completed at a cost of Rs. 5.40 Cr in 12 months’ time. The said building is 4 storied structure consists of Ground Floor, 1st Floor, 2nd Floor and 3rd Floor with provision of 9 class rooms, 2 computer labs, 3 lecture theatre, 2 sound proof audio rooms, skill & video lab, career guidance & placement cell, stairs & lift etc.

Sh. C. B. Ojha, Chief Engineer, Sh. Kapil Setia, Chief Architect, U.T. and other officers of Chandigarh Administration were also present.
