THEY ALSO CHEATED WHILE SELLING VEHICLE ON OLX BY IMPERSONATING AS AN ARMY OFFICER, 2 MOBILE PHONES USED IN CHEATING & DOCUMENTS RECOVERED, THEY OPENED SEVERAL BANK ACCOUNTS USING DOCUMENTS OF THIER KNOWNS & FURTHER USED THESE ACCOUNTS TO RECIEVE CHEATED AMOUNT, HEY CHEATED MORE THAN 100 IN LAST ONE YEAR. THEY MOSTLY IMPERSONATED AS HIGH PROFILE EDUCATED PROFESSIONALS & USED THEIR PHOTGRAPHS UPLOADED ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS.

With the arrest of two desperate fraudsters namely, Javed Khan R/o Village Ballana, Alwar, Rajasthan (Age- 19 yrs) and Amit Kumar R/o Alwar, Rajasthan (Age- 23 yrs), Staff of Cyber PS North-West solved a cheating case registered vide FIR No. 05/23 u/s 420 IPC PS Cyber and recovered 02 mobile phones used in crime. They used photographs of high profile educated professionals & used them as ‘Display Pic’ over whatsapp in order to demand money from their relatives/ friends.
On 19.01.2023, an online complaint was received in PS Cyber through cyber portal of MHA, in which complainant alleged that someone was using his photographs over whatsapp as ‘Display Pic’ and demanded money from his relatives & friends. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 05/23 u/s 420 IPC was registered in Cyber Police Station and investigation was taken up.
Considering the gravity of offence and nature of incident, a dedicated team led by Insp. Vijender, SHO/PS Cyber comprising of Insp. KK Jha, SI Vinod Kumar, HC Manish, Ct. Anuj & Ct. Shubham of PS cyber was constituted under close supervision of ACP/Operations and overall supervision of the undersigned. The team was briefed properly and tasked to nab the culprits at the earliest.
Mr. Jitendra Kumar Meena, IPS, Dy. Commissioner of Police North-West District, said, during course of investigation, it was found that mobile number used by the alleged persons was also found linked in another matter in which they projected themselves as an army officer and cheated about Rs. 47,000/- in lieu of selling an old vehicle on OLX. Accordingly, money trail was examined and it was found that the cheated amount was transferred in a Bank account in Alwar, Rajasthan.(SUBHEAD)
Immediately, a raiding party was constituted and sent there. The team was successful in nabbing one accused person namely, Amit Kumar R/o Alwar, Rajasthan (Age- 23 yrs). On his sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he took commission in lieu of receiving cheated amount in his bank account. Further on his instance, main accused Javed Khan R/o Village Ballana, Alwar, Rajasthan (Age- 19 yrs) was also nabbed, who confessed his involvement in the instant case.
He further disclosed that he searched Facebook accounts of high profile educated professionals and downloaded their photographs to use them over whatsapp & demanded money from their relatives/ friends. He opened several bank accounts using documents of his known persons & gave them commission after receiving cheated amount. He further disclosed that he is illiterate and to earn easy money, he started cheating innocents and cheated more than 100 in last one year.
Further proceedings have been initiated to freeze alleged bank accounts and efforts are being made to nab his associates & to trace his other possible involvements in other complaints also.
