SHE WAS SENDING PICTURES & MESSAGES TO HER FRIEND'S SISTER AND OTHER RELATIVES TO TAKE REVENGE, THE ACCUSED WANTED TO TAKE REVENGE FROM COMPLAINANT'S BROTHER WHO HAPPENED TO BE HER FRIEND. INCRIMINATING EVIDENCE INCLUDING MOBILE PHONE AND SIM CARDS USED TO CREATE FAKE INSTAGRAM PROFILES AND SENDING OBSCENE MESSAGES, WERE RECOVERED ON HER INSTANCE.

The complaint from a woman was received at Police Station Cyber North through National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal alleging therein that some unknown person had morphed and created her obscene pictures with her brother and had been posting these pictures on social media platform Instagram through fake IDs.
Obscene and improper messages alongwith mobile number of complainant's brother was also circulated on public platform to harass and defame the siblings. The relatives of the complainant had also been receiving such messages through different fake social media profile IDs.
On the basis of the complaint, a case FIR was registered at PS Cyber North and investigation was taken up. Immediately, a police team led by Woman SI Deepa, comprising of ASI Amit Tyagi, HC Pankaj, and W/HC Geeta was formed to work out the case and nab the culprit, under the close supervision of Inspr. Pawan Tomar, SHO/PS Cyber North and guidance of Shri Dharmendra Kumar, ACP/Operations North District.(SUBHEAD)
During the course of investigation, details of alleged Instagram profiles were obtained which included IP addresses and mobile numbers used for registration of these profiles. Further details of these IP addresses were also obtained from concerned telecom service operators.
The technical analysis of these details coupled with on ground verification revealed that the mobile number was registered in the name of mother of alleged person. Initially her mother feigned ignorance about the suspected mobile number being used in her name, but later on sustained interrogation and after confrontation with material evidences collected during investigation, it was established that her teenage daughter had been using the mobile phone, SIM card and IMEI No.
On 18.02.2023, the alleged girl a r/o Onkar Nagar Inderlok, Delhi, aged 19 ½ years was apprehended by above said team. 01 SIM card, 01 Memory card and 01 Mobile phone used in the offence have also been recovered from the possession of accused woman. It was also established that the said teenager girl had created fake Instagram IDs and posted on Instagram through the recovered mobile phone.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, North Distt, said, during interrogation, the accused woman revealed that a boy has been residing in her locality at Inderlok and both were very good friends. However, due to some unknown reasons the boy maligned her character in locality. Therefore, in order to take revenge, she created a fake ID on Instagram and morphed obscene photos of the boy with his sister and made inappropriate comments to defame his family. Apart from the above ID, she had also created and deleted many other IDs. From these IDs, she also sent messages to her own Instagram ID to avoid suspicion.
