A Joint team of Special staff and PS Najafgarh led by Insp. Naveen Kumar and Insp. Ajay Kumar comprising ASI Anil Kumar, ASI Rasmudeen, HC Paramjeet, HC Suraj, HC Sumit, HC Vijender, HC Rajkumar, HC Dev Prakash, HC Kuladeep, HC Jagdish, and Ct Ravi under the overall supervision of Sh. Ram Avtar, ACP/Ops Dwarka, was constituted in this regard. The teams were tasked to regularly making surveillance over the bailout gang members of different gangs active in district and adjoining states.
The teams were directed not only for the detection of crime but also to make efforts for the prevention of crime with intensive patrolling and checking, so that commission of any crime can be averted. The team was also briefed to identify the criminals who carries illegal firearms and ammunition for creating their dominance in the area or to commit any crime. Accordingly, local informers were also deployed into the area to get intelligence and information regarding such criminals.
(SUBHEAD)Finally, teams got specific information that a criminal namely Ritik along with his associate who had recently fired at the office of a property dealer in Mohan Garden area on the direction of one criminal currently lodged in jail. Finally, on 22/02/2023, information was received regarding the movement of accused Ritik and he will come at Ganda Nala Road, Baprola Vihar. As per information, a trap was laid down by the team near Peer Baba Majar and accused Ritik was apprehended while he was coming on a motorcycle.
M.Harsha Vardhan, IPS, DCP, Dwarka, said, on interrogation, he disclosed his identity as Ritik @ Peter Baba R/o Village Ladrawan, PS Bahadurgarh Sadar, Distt. Jhajjar, Haryana, Age 22 years. During frisking, a sophisticated 09 MM pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession. As per recovery of illegal firearms a case vide FIR No. 90/23 U/s 25 Arms Act was registered at PS Najafgarh. Later, at the instance of accused Ritik, his associates namely Ankur was also arrested and one 0.32 MM pistol with two live cartridges were also recovered from his possession. During interrogation, both the accused persons confessed that on 20-02-2023, they had fired at the office of a property dealer at Mohan Garden area on the direction of one criminal currently lodged in jail.
During interrogation, it was revealed that accused Ritik is permanent resident of Village Ladravan, Jhajjar, Haryana. His father had some dispute with his uncle over a property. With the support of criminals, he fired over his uncle and he was arrested in 2020. In year 2021, he along with Ankur and other associates had robbed a motorcycle from the area of Rai Sonipat.
He was again arrested in this case. In Feb 2023, he fired over a property dealer office for the purpose of extortion. He along with his associate Ankur came in Mohan Garden area on 20-02-23 and fired over the office of property dealer.
Accused Ankur is gold medalist in wrestling in 2013-14 national championship. He also played for India in Asian championship held at Mangolia in 2013. Later, he started taking injections of drug and also fell into bad company and was arrested in motorcycle jacking case in 2021. He was also arrested in cases of arms act in Haryana.
