Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat national joint secretary Jayant H. Kathiriya said that the Panchayat has been trying to create awareness among the consumers across the country to protect their rights. Preparations have started for its promotion, dissemination and panchayat upliftment. The NGO will work effectively by activating the members in every district.

Addressing meetings at Fazilka and Abohar, Kathiriya said that the Panchayat is an organization that works in the interests of the customer. Every living being on this earth is a customer from before his birth till his death. The main objective of the Panchayat is to establish an exploitation-free society. The NGO was established in 1974 in Pune. The organization's biggest achievement has been the implementation of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986.(SUBHEAD)

(MOREPIC1)  At the meeting in Abohar, State joint treasurer Ashok Garg and local unit president Umesh Bansal Gote Wale said that the Panchayat listens to the problems of the consumers and gives them beneficial advice. The basic objective of the organization is to make the customer aware of his rights and to provide him good quality, correct size and weight at reasonable price, after sales service and good behaviour. In this age of technology, the Panchayat also makes the customers aware from time to time about cybercrime, digital fraud and online shopping frauds happening with the customers.

Pradeep Garg and Mahavir Singla raised many burning issues related to the customers. Expressing happiness over the opening of Consumer Court in district Fazilka, they said that the demand of the last 12 years has now been fulfilled after the formation of the district.

Ashok Garg appealed to the public to take maximum benefits by being aware of their rights through the District Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum.
