The Cycling Expedition conducted by the Konark Sappers to commemorate the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” culminated at Jodhpur War Memorial on Friday after pedalling 1100 km through the arduous and picturesque Thar Desert and the Aravalli Ranges during the mesmerising odyssey.

The expedition was flagged in by General Officer Commanding Konark Corps at the Jodhpur War Memorial in a gracious ceremony. He appreciated the zeal and determination of the cycling team and hailed them to take on bigger challenges. The expedition team transited through 48 towns and villages of Western and Southern Rajasthan and interacted with NCC Cadets, College and school students at 35 educational establishments in the far-flung areas of our great nation.(SUBHEAD)

The team motivated the youth of the border areas to serve the nation with pride by joining the noble profession of armed forces through a multitude of entry options with a special emphasis on Agnipath Scheme. The determination visible in our youth, especially the girls, to excel in all spheres of life is worth mentioning.

The team also interacted with our Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris by conveying gratitude for their splendid contribution to the Armed Forces.

While pedalling through the treacherous countryside, the expedition has fostered the spirit of adventure in our valiant troops in the true traditions of the Indian Army. It has instilled a sense of accomplishment and self-belief in the entire team, motivating them to take tougher challenges in the times to come. Overall, the expedition has been a great unifier of our Army and our people.
