With the arrest of accused Usha @ Anjali @ Nikki @ Nikita, 29 years, R/o New Housing Board, Panipat, Haryana. Southern Range of Crime Branch has unraveled the mysterious and sensational murder of a businessman, registered vide FIR No. 117/23 dated 31/3/23 u/s 302 IPC at Police Station Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi.
An information was received at police station Safdarjung Enclave that a man is lying dead in a hotel room. Local Police team reached at the spot i.e. at A-2/13, Baljeet Lodge, S.J. Enclave, Delhi and found a male dead body from whose mouth, blood was oozing out. A hand written note was also found near the dead body on which “AAP EK NICE PERSON HAI SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY, SAMAJH LENA MERI BHUAT JYADA MAJBURI THI JO AAPKE SATH YE KIYA EXTREMALLY SORRY YAR” was written.
The dead body was identified as Deepak Sethi, 53 years, R/o A-13F, Delhi Police Apartment, Phase-I, Mayur Vihar. It was revealed that the deceased Deepak Sethi came with a lady at Baljeet Lodge on 30.03.2023 at around 8:30 PM and she left the hotel at about 12:25 AM in midnight.
It was further found that after leaving the hotel, the lady went in a Wagon-R Car. A case vide FIR No 117/23, dated 31/3/23, U/s 302 IPC was registered in P.S S.J. Enclave, New Delhi.(SUBHEAD)
Being a sensational and mysterious case of murder, the team of Southern Range of Crime Branch swung into action and developed the information about the movements and activities of accused person involved in this murder case registered in Police Station Safdarjung Enclave. The team comprising of Insp Vijay Pal Dahiya, SI Rajesh Baisoya, ASI Vijumon, HC Arvind, Ct. Vipin and Ct Abhay Pathak under the close supervision of ACP Naresh Solanki was constituted by DCP Ankit Kumar Singh and Joint C.P S.D. Mishra to nab the accused.
The team visited the spot and analyzed the CCTV footage minutely. The team obtained the copy of Adhaar Card of lady who accompanied the deceased, but the Adhaar Card was found fake. The name of Anjali was written on Adhaar card. The team obtained the mobile number of deceased Deepak Sethi. After analyzing more than 500 contact details of the deceased Deepak Sethi, the team found some suspect numbers. But the prime suspect mobile number was also found issued on fake documents and it was activated only on 20/03/23.
On further scrutiny of the call details records, it was found that suspect mobile phone was recharged somewhere in the area of Santgarh, Delhi on 23/03/23. The team reached Santgarh and after hard work, team was able to identify the shop from where the suspect mobile phone was recharged.
The phone was recharged by one Chide, Nigerian national. He was interrogated who informed that the phone belongs to one Nikki @ Nikita who is friend of Madhumita, his live in partner. But he did not know the address of Nikita @ Nikki. Again CDRs of other available numbers was checked and in this process one number of Nikita @ Nikki was found. Hard work and sincere efforts bore the result and the team arrested the accused Usha @ Anjali @ Nikki @ Nikita, 29 years, R/o New Housing Board, NHBC, Panipat, Haryana from Noida.
The team also succeeded to recover the blue bag & gold ring of the deceased, fake Adhaar Card and mobile phone which was used in crime from the possession of the arrested accused. She disclosed the sequence about this crime and about the note, she had written which was found at the spot of crime.
During investigation, it was revealed that Usha @ Anjali @ Nikki was in jail in 2022 in a case U/s 379A/384/389/120B IPC, P.S Model Town, Panipat, Haryana and at that time, another lady Madhumita was also lodged in the same jail. They became friends and used to live together in Sant Garh, Delhi.
Mr.Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, said, deceased Deepak Sethi was already a known of Madhumita and she had introduced Usha @ Nikki @ Anjali to him. On 30/03/23, Madhumita and her friend Usha @ Nikki @ Anjali came to Connaught Place metro station where Usha met Deepak Sethi who took her to hotel Baljeet Lodge in S.J. Enclave. Usha @ Nikki @ Anjali had planned to give some drugs to Deepak Sethi and when Deepak will become unconscious Usha @ Anjali would flee after taking his money and other belongings with Madhumita in the already hired Ola cab.
At around midnight, as per plan, when Deepak Sethi became unconscious, Usha @ Anjali @ Nikita took the bag, mobile phone and some jewelry of Deepak and fled from the hotel along with Madhumita who was waiting for her in an ola cab. It was a fool proof conspiracy as all the IDs and mobile numbers were taken on forged documents.

PROFILE OF ARRESTED ACCUSED: Usha @ Anjali @ Nikki @ Nikita is a resident of Panipat. She studied upto 12th standard only. She got married with Ankur but later on she got divorced. She is previously involved in a case registered U/s 379A/384/389/120B IPC, P.S Model Town, Panipat, Haryana and remained in Jail for June 2022 to Sept 2022.
