CM ANNOUNCES Rs. ONE CRORE AS EX-GRATIA, GOVT. JOB TO ONE MEMBER OF FAMILY OF FOUR MARTYRS, GOVERNOR CONDOLESS

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs. One Crore along with government job for the each family of the four brave hearts from the state, who laid down their lives on Thursday, in the service of nation at Jammu and Kashmir. 

Meanwhile Punjab Governor and Administrator U.T. Chandigarh Sh. Banwarilal Purohit expressed grief over the demise of Jawans killed in J&K terror attack.

“I am deeply saddened to hear the news of martyrdom of our five jawans including four from Punjab and one Odishi jawan. Their sacrifice for the safety of the country will not go in vain. They will always be remembered and revered by the fellow citizens”, said the Governor. I convey my heartfelt condolence to the family members of the martyrs. May Go grant eternal peace to the departed souls, said he.  

(SUBHEAD)In the meantime extending his sympathies with the bereaved family of the heroes who attained martyrdom in a terrorist attack in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Minister said that these martyred soldiers have been identified as Havildar Mandeep Singh of Village Chankoian Kacan District Ludhiana, Lance Naik Kulwant Singh of Village Charik District Moga, Sepoy Harkrishan Singh of Village Talwandi Bharath District Gurdaspur and Sepoy Sevak Singh Village Bagha District Bathinda. Bhagwant Mann condemned the terrorist attack and expressed anguish over the loss of lives of brave soldiers. He said that per Punjab Government policy, an ex-gratia amount of Rs One Crore and one job will be given to the next of kin and dependent of the deceased army personnel. (SUBHEAD)

The Chief Minister said that these heroes displayed utmost dedication to defend country’s unity and their sacrifice will ever inspire his fellow soldiers to perform their duties with far more devotion and commitment. Bhagwant Mann said that Punjabis had played a vanguard role in emancipating the county from the clutches of British imperialism. Likewise, he said that now the Punjabis are playing a major role in preserving the unity and integrity of the country by defending its borders.
