PUNJAB AT FIRST SIGHT: CM FELICITATES TOPPERS OF 8TH EXAM WITH CASH AWARD OF RS 51,000 EACH

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday felicitated the best three performing girls, who have bagged top positions in the results of 8th class declared on Friday, with cash award.

Honouring the three students Lovepreet Kaur, Gurankit Kaur and Samarpreet Kaur with a cash award of Rs 51,000 each, the Chief Minister said that it is a red letter day for the state as these daughters of the state have excelled in the result. He said these girls through their hard work and dedication have shined in the field of education. Bhagwant Mann said that this is really a momentous day for all of us for which the students, their parents and teachers deserve accolade.

The Chief Minister said that against the general notion these students from government schools have excelled in the state outnumbering their peers from private schools. He said that these girls will become role model for other students and inspire them to excel in arena of education by getting education in government schools. Bhagwant Mann said that these girls have proved that if the they are given wings to fly they can soar new heights in any arena.

The Chief Minister said that in a paradigm shift it has been decided that the students who score equal marks the exams will be given same rank in merit. He said that like two girls who have scored 600 marks now will now be considered on rank one and three students who have scored 98.6% will be on second rank and three students scoring 98.5% will be on third rank. Bhagwant Mann hoped that this will further help in empowering the girl child by boosting them to acquire education. On the occasion Cabinet Ministers Harjot Bains and others were also present.

DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR FAMILY, SIBLINGS GET GOVERNMENT JOBS

The spree of providing government jobs to unemployed youth by the Punjab Government brought unbounded joy for Parwinder Kaur’s family as she received appointment letter from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. It was double delight for the family since not only Parwinder Kaur but also her brother Harwinder Singh got selected as clerk in Technical Education Department on the same time.

Hailing from Satauj village of Sangrur district, both siblings expressed their gratitude to Punjab Government for fulfilling their promise of providing jobs to the youngsters across the state. Harwinder Singh received appointment letter from Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. “Our wishes to stay and serve in Punjab have come true with Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann continues its endeavour to fill the vacant posts resulting in jobs for both of us” said Harwinder exhilaratingly.

Now his sister would not be settling abroad, said Harwinder adding that Parwinder had secured six bands in IELTS and she was planning to proceed towards foreign shores due to prevalent unemployment in the state. He further mentioned that these timely filled vacancies by the Punjab Government would keep the family intact in Punjab on one hand and doing away from the fury of brain drain. He disclosed that earlier they both had missed their place in list of appointment as Patwaris due to minimal scores i.e. 1.5 marks short in written exams, thereafter both made all out efforts in preparing for IT Clerks exams and succeeded in cracking the same. Now they got appointed as clerks in Technical Education Department, he added.

Harwinder said they were three siblings including two brothers and one sister. His younger brother got recruitment as an airman after completing his senior secondary and is now promoted to the rank of Corporal in Indian Air Force.

Pertinently, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has handed over as many as 29,000 appointment letters of Government jobs to the youngsters during his tenure of 13 months.

PUNJAB INVITES TENDER WORTH 119.51 LAKH FOR DEVELOPMENT WORKS IN DHANAULA 

The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is committed to providing basic facilities and a clean, pollution-free environment to the people of the state. In this regard, the Minister for Local Government, Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, has announced that development works will begin in Dhanaula soon.

Minister for Local Government, Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, said that the beautification of the park at Municipal Council Dhanaula, construction and repair of the Dharamshala, roof of government primary school girls' rooms, and street lights need to be repaired.

Similarly, the services of Sweepers, sewer men, clerks, electricians, pump operators, and helpers, etc., will also be hired at Municipal Council Dhanaula to provide a clean environment and run the work of the area smoothly. He said that the cost of each work will be different and the total cost of all works is estimated to be Rs 119.51 lakh.

Dr. Nijjar said that the development works to be conducted in Dhanaula are expected to provide infrastructure and facilities to the large population of the area, and the Punjab government is committed to ensuring that the work is completed efficiently and within the stipulated timeframe.
The Minister said that the efforts of the Punjab government to provide better infrastructure and facilities to the people of the state are commendable, and this initiative to develop Dhanaula is another step towards achieving this goal. 

POWER MINISTER HANDS OVER CHEQUE WORTH RS.5 LAKH TO KIN OF EMPLOYEE LOST LIFE IN LINE OF DUTY

Punjab Power Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO handed over a cheque worth Rs.5 lakh to the family members of Vikas Verma, Complaint Handling Bike (CHB) of PSPCL, who lost his life while performing his duty.

After handing over the cheque of a financial assistance to Mrs. Renu Verma, wife of the deceased and other family members, the Cabinet Minister said that contractual employee Vikas Varma was working in Central Zone Ludhiana, who was died of electrocution on duty in 2018. Thus, the financial assistance has been provided to the family of the deceased employee in a sympathetic gesture.

The Cabinet Minister further said, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann led government was committed to the welfare of its employees and their family members.
