During the probe it was found that these officials remained posted in DEO (Elementary) Ludhiana and Gurdaspur at different times and were responsible for the safe and secure custody of recruitment record such as Check Lists, Merit Lists, Scrutiny lists, Experience Certificates, Final Selection/Merit lists of the candidates who had applied for about 9998 posts of ETT/JBT/ Teaching Fellows in 2007. However, these officials, in connivance with the officers of the Education Department, had committed irregularities/misappropriation in safekeeping of this record, adding he said after complaints of submission of bogus documents including forged experience certificates by many of the selected candidates surfaced, the said accused failed to submit/present the requisite record under their safe custody either to the departmental committee appointed for the purpose or to the VB.
