HUNDREDS REMEMBER BL SIKKA AS THE PIONEER OF SOCIAL SERVICE

Hundreds of people turned up at Sangam Palace to pay final tributes to former SDM and veteran social activist B.L. Sikka. They expressed sympathies to his daughters- Komal and her husband Panchkula-based industrialist Vipul Ghai, Anjali and her husband Sanjeev Berry Additional Judge Punjab and Haryana High Court and Anuradha and her husband Vimal Setia IAS, Registrar Cooperative Societies Punjab.

The dignitaries said that B.L. Sikka, through social organizations Punjabi Sabhyachar Manch Abohar and Shaheedon-ki-Samadh Committee Fazilka had been organizing functions on the birthdays and Balidan Diwas of martyrs, to acquaint the new generation of the country's freedom movement. As a member of the Legal Services Authority, he helped many poor people to get justice. Lekhak Parishad president Raj Sadosh threw light on the departed activist’s life and achievements.

Sikka's niece Pooja, in her concise address, spoke emotionally about his hold on Urdu poetry and his resolve to do something every moment for the society
