1580 CASES SETTLED IN THE NATIONAL LOK ADALAT

National Lok Adalat was organized today at district headquarters Fazilka, Abohar and Jalalabad under the guidance of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Fazilka, Jatinder Kaur. Many cases were settled in the Lok Adalat with the mutual consent of both the parties. 

In total, 8 benches were installed in the district, in which 5 benches were at Fazilka, 2 at Abohar and 1 at Jalalabad. Jagmohan Singh Sanghe, Additional District and Sessions Judge-cum-in-charge, Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Fazilka informed that 1580 cases were disposed of in the NLA and awards of Rs.21,11,17,092/- were passed.

Amandeep Singh, Secretary, DLSA said that with these Lok Adalats where common people get relief, they also save time and money. Through the Lok Adalat, mutual enmity between the two parties ends and brotherhood increases. After the decision in the Lok Adalat, all court fees incurred in the case are refunded. Its judgment enjoys the status of a civil court. There can be no appeal against its decisions.
