In an incident which took place during the broad day light yesterday, three masked robbers took away cash and gold from the residence of a Punjab Police ASI posted in Excise department.
While giving details, Narinderjit Kaur wife of the ASI Baljeet Singh said that yesterday evening around 3.15 pm, somebody knocked at the door. “When I opened the door, three persons, who were wearing the masks, forcibly entered the house. One of them was carrying sharp edged weapon and while other was carrying a pistol. They took away all the gold jewelry weighing 200 gram (approximate) and cash worth Rs. 2.5 lakh”, said Narinderjit.
ASI Baljit Singh said that he was at Chandigarh when the incident took place. “As soon as I got the news, I came back and reported the matter at Sadar police station”, said Baljit.
Ravi Yadav, SHO Sadar police station said that the police is investigating the matter. “The police is checking the CCTV footage of the incident to identify the accused. All the accused will soon be nabbed”, said Yadav.
