he concept of LiFE was introduced by the  Prime Minister at the World Leaders' Summit in Glasgow at the 2021 UNFCCC COP26, when he gave a clarion call to rekindle a global pursuit to adopt sustainable lifestyle and practices.

This year, it has been envisaged to celebrate the World Environment Day 2023 with a thrust on the Mission LiFE. Mass mobilisation across the country on LIFE is being organised in the run-up to the celebrations and to encourage individuals to adopt simple changes in their daily life that can contribute to climate change.

Accordingly, in the run up to the World Environment Day on 5th June, UT’s and Delhi Police will take initiatives to encourage a lifestyle that focuses on mindful and deliberate utilisation of resources and aims to change the present 'use and dispose of consumption habits.

The UT Chandigarh will also engage in various activities such as setting up LIFE centres for collecting old clothes, Books and utensils in all UT’s, organising Bicycle rallies to promote LIFE, construction of water harvesting structures, conduct Special Awareness Campaign on creating awareness about preventing food wastage, involving youth for spreading the message of LIFE and sensitising school going children and others about LIFE etc.(SUBHEAD)
