Punjab Governor Sh. Banwari Lal Puruhit on Wednesday administered oath  of office and secrecy to two new ministers Gurmeet Khudian (MLA from Lambi Constituencey) and Balkar Singh (Kartarpur MLA).

Both were included to punjab cabinet as one of the Key portfolio cabinet Minister Dr. Nijjar had  resigned from Bhagwant Singh Mann Cabinet and the resignation was accepted by the Governor on the same day.

The oath ceremony was held at  Punjab Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh.  

A spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that with this the total strength of the Cabinet had increased to 16 including the Chief Minister.  

Earlier, the Chief Secretary of State Vijay Kumar Janjua conducted the proceedings of the ceremony with the permission of the Governor. After being sworn in Gurmeet Singh Khudian and Balkar Singh signed the oath, which was countersigned by the Governor. 

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister congratulated both the Ministers for the new assignment and said that they have already been serving the masses with missionary zeal. He expressed hope that the new ministers will continue to serve the people with the same passion and fervor.
