TOPPER STUDENTS WITNESS PROCEEDINGS OF LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY

Under the unique program initiated by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann to showcase the proceedings of the legislative assembly to the students who secured positions in the 10th and 12th standard, around 250 topper students from government schools of the state witnessed a special session of the legislative assembly today.

During their visit, the students and teachers also met and interacted with the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann, Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains, and took commemorative pictures with them.

While encouraging the students to work hard for their bright future, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann said that such efforts would be continued in future also to impart practical information to the students about the executive, legislature and judiciary.(SUBHEAD)

The Chief Minister directed the officials of the School Education Department to continue the visits of the students to the legislative assembly even during non-session days so that the students continue to get information about the legislative process.

During the interaction in the committee room, the Chief Minister also answered to the queries of the students.

Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan briefly discussed the legislation or amendments to be made for the welfare of the people during the session of the legislative assembly. Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains stated that no stone will be left unturned to enhance the confidence and enthusiasm of deserving students.

Earlier, the students witnessed the proceedings of the session and the debate on various resolutions.
The students also visited the office of the Speaker, where S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan offered them sweets. He expressed hope that these students will achieve great heights in their lives and bring pride to their teachers and parents.
