Hundreds of people participated in the International Yoga Day function at Nehru Park here on Wednesday. The programme was organised by the Jakhar Trust. The participants offered a positive response to the call that MLA Sandeep Jakhar gave to keep the surroundings clean and avoid disposing of the waste of religious and spiritual ceremonies in the canals.
(MOREPIC1)The participants assured to follow the guidelines given by the “Apna Abohar, Apni Abha '' team to further improve the ranking of Abohar city in next Swachhta Survekshan by putting domestic garbage in the tippers of Municipal Corporation that move in each ward. The MLA emphasised the need to shun use of the single-use plastic material that, if thrown out after functions, affects the dirty water disposal system seriously.
To bring uniformity, the Jakhar Trust that sponsored the function, provided yellow-color shirts to all the participants who had got their names registered for the event through respective Councilors. The Morning Club assisted the Trust in making arrangements for the function.
