Kailash Chander, a former accountant in the local market committee has sought CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s intervention to get financial benefits that he was denied in the past nine years.
In a letter to the CM, the victim recalled that after taking charge as CM, Mann had announced that any department would raise all the objections on a file in one go, if some official raises the objections repeatedly, it will be considered as a tactic to indulge in corruption.
The retired employee says that he was appointed by the Market Committee. He was issued a charge sheet in the year 2000 which was withdrawn on May 19, 2021. Although his appointee was the Market Committee, but with the intention of deliberately harassing, the file relating to post-retirement benefits was sent to the Punjab Mandi Board for approval. In the last 2 years this file has not moved even an inch. This exposes the malfeasance of the Board and the Market Committee. Attempts are being made to muddle the matter by raising old objections again and again, he added.
Kailash Chander has also approached Agriculture Minister, Punjab Mandi Board chairman and Director of Vigilance Department, demanding that the entire episode be investigated by Vigilance so that he gets the opportunity to spend the rest of his life peacefully. Market Committee officials said the related file is to be expedited by Punjab Mandi Board. EOM
