THE INCLUSION OF MOHALI IN THE TOP 20 CITIES UNDER SWACHH SURVEKSHAN SURVEY IS OUR TARGET: AMARJEET SINGH SIDHU

Mohali Mayor, Amarjeet Singh Sidhu said that the Municipal Corporation, Mohali, has intensified its efforts to improve its ranking in the Swachh Survekshan-2023, the survey of which has already begun last month.
(MOREPIC1)(MOREPIC2)Sh. Sidhu gave this information after a meeting with senior officers and officer bearers of MC, Mohali. He said that we have deeply contemplated the reasons for last year's poor performance in the Swachh Survekshan Survey (1-10 lakh category).
He said that this year we will leave no stone unturned to significantly improve the Mohali ranking. He added that we are committed to the resolve of including Mohali in the top 20 cities under the Swachh Survekshan Survey.
He added that Mohali has already adopted a no tolerance policy for single use of plastic and also strengthened the system of garbage collection. (SUBHEAD)
As a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, the assessment will be based on cleanliness of public spaces and toilets; collection of feedback from residents; and the performance of municipalities in waste collection, segregation and processing. Mayor said with a holistic approach we have worked on all parameters.
Mayor called upon the citizens to contribute in making Mohali a cleanest city of the country. He said that equal participation is required to materialize this vision.
Sh. Sidhu said that efforts taken this year will definitely yield positive results. He further said that the visionary approach of Developing Mohali on International Standards by Former Mohali MLA, Balbir Singh Sidhu is clearly visible to everyone.
He said that Balbir Sidhu's tireless work is paying off, and Mohali is set to be called Chandigarh's rich cousin. He further stated that major development is taking pace in Mohali which started during Sidhu’s tenure. He added that Balbir Singh Sidhu is still working very hard and in constant touch with Central Government leadership for ensuring Mohali's development.
He said that 3 years down the line the Mohali will be a hub for business, industry, medical and education at National Level.
