178992 cusecs of water were discharged from Hussainiwala headworks at 5 pm on Thursday, it was 1,99,872 cusecs on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Thus, about 21,000 cusecs of water has been reduced from the headworks, which provides some relief to the Fazilka area but a vigilance will have to be observed on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal today visited Kawan Wali Pattan bridge and took stock of the situation. Here the water was still flowing about half a ft below the bridge. The DC said that water has not yet moved to the populated areas of the villages, but in some places, some low-lying fields adjacent to the river were inundated.

According to her, the situation is completely under control, water is moving forward continuously. People are supporting the administration with courage. All arrangements are complete in the relief camps, but still people are considering themselves safe in their villages. The administration has told them that if there is any danger, they should follow the advisory and move to a safe place.
