Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

The construction work of Bahawalbasi Road, hanging in limbo for a long time, has started with the efforts of MLA Sandeep Jakhar.

The MLA inspected the construction work of the road which started after a lot of effort. He said that about two years ago, he had got this project passed by the government, but it was in limbo for the past one year. Now the work has been started, about 18.80 km of road is being constructed at a cost of about Rs 15 crores. To ensure smooth traffic, the width of the road has been increased from 10 to 18 foot.

Jakhar also visited Subhash Nagar and Waryam Nagar here and condemned the state govt for scrapping hundreds of ration cards made by the previous governments with the aim of providing cheap and free wheat to the poor and needy families. He listened to the problems of the people. They told him that their ration cards had been scrapped without fair investigation. They were facing a lot of trouble. He said that the list of ration cards scrapped without investigation is being prepared and it will be his endeavor to get these ration cards restored soon.
