JIMPA BATS FOR EARLY COMPLETION OF ONGOING SURFACE WATER PROJECT

Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide clean surface water to the residents, the Cabinet Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa today directed the officers to complete ongoing surface water projects at the earliest.

Chairing a meeting to review the surface water projects at Chawinda Kalan (Amritsar), Bhuchar Kalan (Amritsar), Parowal (Gurdaspur) and Kunjar (Gurdaspur), the Cabinet Minister asked the concerned agencies and department officers to complete t

hese projects as early as possible so that clean surface can be supplied to water quality affected areas. He said that water supply and sanitation department is committed to provide clean drinking water and sanitation facilities to the rural residents of Punjab. Jimpa said that Punjab Govt. is implementing large surface water supply projects in the state of Punjab where ground water quality is deteriorated in various parts of Punjab.

The Minister said that he is personally regularly monitoring the progress of these projects to expedite the progress. He further added that with the completion of these projects residents of 353 villages will be benefitted. He said that the state government is leaving no stone unturned for timely completion lo and execution of these projects.

On the occasion Principal Secretary D.K. Tiwari, HoD Mohd. Ishfaq, other senior officers and representatives of contractual agencies were present.
