DGP PUNJAB HOLDS LAW & ORDER REVIEW MEETING OF PATIALA AND ROPAR RANGES

To ensure the foolproof security arrangements in the state ahead of Independence Day as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday held two high-level meetings to review the law and order situation in Patiala and Ropar Ranges.

The meeting of four districts of Patiala Range— Patiala, Malerkotla, Sangrur and Barnala— was held in Patiala, while, the meeting of three districts of Ropar Range— SAS Nagar, Rupnagar and Fatehgarh Sahib— was held in Mohali.

During his visit to Patiala, DGP Gaurav Yadav also inaugurated the canteen for the welfare of the Police Personnel, where they can buy grocery products or other daily need items at subsidised rates.

“We have strict instructions from CM Bhagwant Mann ji to ensure the welfare of Police personnel and upgrade the’ infrastructure of Punjab Police so that the force could emerge as the best police force in the country,” said the DGP, after inaugurating the Canteen.

He said that, during the meetings, officers were briefed on various aspects including Independence Day arrangements, law and order issues, suggestions on further improvement of Policing, and the current requisites for effective law enforcement. He also shared various security alerts and inputs with the officers.

Later, DGP Gaurav Yadav joined the ‘Bada Khana’ lunch organized by the Patiala Police, which provided an opportunity to officers of all ranks to interact with the Head of the Police Force and exchange ideas, thereby strengthening the bond that is essential for effective teamwork in the field. He also honoured high-performing Police officials and personnel of Patiala and Ropar Ranges to encourage and motivate them to perform their duties more effectively.

Among others, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Patiala Range Mukhwinder Singh Chhina, IGP Ropar Range Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, SSP Patiala Varun Sharma, SSP Sangrur Surendra Lamba, SSP Barnala Sandeep Malik, SSP Malerkotla Gursharandeep Singh Grewal, SSP SAS Nagar Sandeep Garg, SSP Rupnagar Vivek Sheel Soni and SSP Fatehgarh Sahib Dr Ravjot Kaur Grewal were present in the meeting.
