TWO WOMEN ARRESTED IN THE CASE AND MANHUNT LAUNCHED TO ARREST THE REMAINING ACCUSED

Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Thursday booked a retired District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO), Kuldeep Singh, who was also holding the charge of ADC (D) Pathankot and seven private individuals in connection with 734 kanal & one marla Panchayat land scam. Two beneficiary women have been arrested in the case.

Revealing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB said that the accused ADC Kuldeep Singh had announced a decision in favour of private individuals in a case of Veena Parmar & others versus Gram Panchayat of village Gol in Narot Jaimal Singh block of Pathankot district on 27-02-2023. With this mala fide intentioned decision, he had paved way to transfer the 734 kanal and one marla of shamlat land to some private individuals.

(SUBHEAD)In this regard, an FIR no. 26 dated 09-08-2023 under sections 409, 420, 120-B of IPC and 13 (1) (A), 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at Police Station VB, Amritsar Range against Ex-DDPO Kuldeep Singh resident of Makboolpura (Amritsar) and beneficiaries of the decision include Veena Parmar resident of Krishna Nagar Hoshiarpur, Inderdeep Kaur resident of Ferozepur City, Bharati Banta resident of Krishna Nagar Pathankot, Tarsem Rani resident of Gurdaspur, Balwinder Kaur resident of village Taragarh (Pathankot), Manjit Kaur resident of village Taragarh (Pathankot) and Parveen Kumari resident of village Kalanaur (Gurdaspur).

The spokesperson said that the accused Inderdeep Kaur resident of Ferozepur City and Bharati Banta resident of Krishna Nagar Pathankot, who benefitted around 29 acres Panchayat land, have been arrested and a manhunt has been launched to arrest the remaining accused. Further investigation is on in the case.
