Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Thursday nabbed a Sewadar, Gagandeep Singh, posted at Patwarkhana Tehsil Office Ahmedgarh in Malerkotla district, for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Balwinder Singh resident of Bazigar Basti, Dhuri (Sangrur).

Divulging details here today, an official spokesperson of the VB said that Balwinder Singh lodged a complaint that Sewadar Gagandeep Singh was demanding a bribe of Rs. 15,000/- for providing farad of the land situated in village Dasonda Singh Wala. The complainant alleged that the accused has already taken Rs 15000 as bribe on August 8, 2023 and now was asking for more.

After the investigation of the complaint, a team of VB laid a trap and arrested the accused Sewadar while accepting the bribe money of Rs 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of official witnesses, he added.

In this regard, he said that an FIR has been registered against Gagandeep Singh at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Patiala Range and further investigation is in progress.
