A one-day workshop, ‘CARE FOR CREATION’- Edmund Rice Social Justice Meet, based on the theme -;Building Sustainable, Inclusive and Resilient Communities; The Laudato Si Way, was organised on  Thursday in St John’s High School.

Students from these schools took part in the event – Carmel Convent School, Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, St. Anne’s Convent School, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate Public School, G.M.H.S Sec 26 (PL) and Govt. High School Daria.

(SUBHEAD)Drawing inspiration from the groundbreaking encyclical of Pope Francis, Laudato Si’, the Social Justice Club Animators and their team designed this unique workshop. It brought together students, educators, and distinguished resource persons so that they could share invaluable insights on climate change and suggest practical steps to preserve our planet.

The event featured two prominent resource persons: Mr. Harsh Sharma, Retired Indian Forest Services Officer and Dr. Anjal Prakash, Research Director, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Both of them expertly answered all the questions asked by the participants.

The workshop was aimed at familiarising students with the environmental challenges faced by us today. Understanding the gravity of the situation, they were able to suggest awareness projects that could contribute towards a more sustainable future. The Principal, Br. R. Fernandes, invited the students to take up the task of spreading awareness about the current environmental situation and
 then, eventually make a difference.
