The written examination for recruitment of 44 posts of ASI (Executive) of Chandigarh Police was held today, across the 27 centers in the city. In this regard, Chandigarh Police made adequate law and order & security arrangements with deployment of more than 600 Police Officials of Chandigarh Police and PCR vehicles were also tasked for patrolling outside each center.
The proper frisking, searching and biometric capturing of finger prints of candidates was ensured. Two Naka’s were installed at each center within 100-meter radius to prevent use of any illegal means during the conduct of examination. Flying Squads were also constituted to conduct surprise checking at centers.
(SUBHEAD)In this examination, nearly 63.63% (8613) of the applied candidates (13534) appeared in the written examination and 4921 candidates were absent.
Due to the alertness & extra efforts by Chandigarh Police and 100% biometric capturing, one case of impersonation was also detected at Examination Center, Govt. College, Sector-42, Chandigarh.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 273 dated 27.08.2023 U/S 419, 420, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh and accused Amit Kumar resident of Delhi has been arrested. The said Amit Kumar was found taking exam in place of one, Anand s/o Raj Kumar, resident of Village Fathepur, Sonpla Divda, Post Deoband, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Besides, one unfair means case was also detected in the same Examination Centre. The entire examination was closely supervised by all the senior rank officers which went off peacefully and conducted successfully. The record has been preserved safely in strong room.
