NSS UNIT OF GOVT COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HOLDS TREE PLANTATION UNDER “ MERI MAATI MERA DESH”

The NSS Unit and ECO Club of Government College of Education Sector 20, Chandigarh conducted another phase of Tree Plantation. The Principal of the college Dr. Sapna Nanda initiated the drive. The Tree Man, Sh. Rahul Mahajan, provided a batch of 30 fruit trees.

(MOREPIC1)   The guests of the day were Sh. Sanjay Tandon, former BJP President, Sh. Yashpal Yadav, Retired Air Force Engineer, Adv. Raj Chadha, Adv. Ritu Sood and Sh. Rahul Mahajan. They planted various trees including Tamarind (Imli), Avocado, Almond (Badaam), Mulberry (Shehtoot), Taiwan Pink – a guava variety, Moringa (Swanjhana), Sherbet Berry (Falsa) and Indian Pear (Babbugosha). The faculty and other staff of the college also planted the trees. Sh. Sanjay appreciated the heritage flavor of the premises and appreciated the drive to make the campus green. “Trees will live forever, long after we will be gone,” he said.

The NSS Program Officers extended gratitude to the Tree Man and the guests. The college is looking forward to the proposed strawberry park in collaboration with the initiative of Sh. Rahul Mahajan. The trees shall build up the green belt of the college premises
