HARYANA POWELIFTER ASHOK LIFTS BRONZE IN PARA ASIAN GAMES

(MOREPIC1) HANGZHOU, CHINA: In a remarkable display of strength and determination, Ashok, hailing from Haryana, secured a well-deserved bronze medal in the 65 kg weight category at the Para Asian Games 2023. Ashok's incredible performance saw him lifting an impressive 192 kg in his second attempt, solidifying his place on the victory podium.

Ashok attributed his success to the unwavering guidance of JP Singh, the chief coach of Para powerlifting, who not only mentored him but also led him to this remarkable achievement. He also expressed his gratitude to his dedicated team, including Mr. Tanvir, Mr. Vikas Malik, and Nitin Arya, whose relentless support played a pivotal role in his journey to the podium.

This isn't Ashok's first taste of international success; he had previously clinched a medal at the Asia Oceania championships. Speaking after his triumphant win, Ashok expressed his happiness, emphasizing that securing a bronze medal at this level is no easy feat and requires immense hard work, dedication, and a committed team. He told that he needs more support from Haryana Govt and SAI to change the colour of medal in future events and for the preparation of Olympics 2024.

Ashok also extended his heartfelt appreciation to organizations that have been instrumental in his journey, including the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), Haryana Government and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS).

JP Singh, elated and proud of his ward's achievement, shared his joy in contributing to India's medal tally through Ashok's outstanding performance. This success highlights the power of talent, perseverance, and dedicated coaching in the world of para powerlifting.Deepa Malik, President PCI congratules Ashok and hoped that the powerlifting team won more medals in the coming days.
