The “57th Chandigarh Police Raising Week” was concluded which observed from 14th to 19th November, 2023 with organizing of many awareness events, community policing initiatives and sports activities. In this series of events, the “Chandigarh Police Sports Meet-2023” was also organized from 18-19.11.2023 in which around 560 police personnel had took part in different sports activities like Athletics, Badminton, Kabaddi, Volleyball & Tug of War.
The closing ceremony of “Chandigarh Police Sports Meet-2023” was held in full enthusiasm at IRBn Complex, Sarangpur, UT, Chandigarh where Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS, DGP/UT, Chandigarh graced the occasion as a Chief Guest. Sh. Raj Kumar Singh, IPS, IGP/UT, Chandigarh, Ms. Manisha Choudhary, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Hqrs. & Training, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Mridul, IPS, SP/City, UT, Chandigarh were also present during the function.(SUBHEAD)
Sh. Narinder Mohan & Sh. Narinder Kumar from sports department and Sh. Sukhwinder Singh from Panjab University were also present the function. The finals events of Athletics (Race 100m), Tug of War (Male & Female), Volleyball (Male) and Kabaddi (Male) were held in good sports environment.
The matches of GO’s vs. Inspector in Tug of War, Volleyball and Race 100 m were also organized. All the participants from lower rank to higher rank gave an enthusiastic performance in the sports event. The winners / runners-up of today’s final matches were awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals by the Chief Guest.
DGP/UT congratulated all the medal winners while encouraging other participants to work harder and come back stronger in future. He also congratulated and thanked all involved for making the Chandigarh Police Sports Meet a success. The “Chandigarh Police Sports Meet-2023” programme was followed by a lunch and finished in healthy sports & congenial environment of esprit-de-corps.
