AMRITSAR RANJIT AVENUE FIRING CASE: TWO OPERATIVES OF JAGGU BHAGWANPURIA AMONG THREE HELD, CAR USED IN CRIME RECOVERED

PROBE REVEALED THAT ARRESTED ACCUSED WERE WANTED IN 3 PREVIOUS FIRING INCIDENTS IN AMRITSAR, SAYS DGP GAURAV YADAV, FOURTH ACCUSED ALREADY ARRESTED IN THIS CASE

Amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) in joint operation with Amritsar Commissionerate Police have got a major breakthrough with the arrest of two operatives of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang along with their key associate for their involvement in firing gun shots on Neeraj Kumar in Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar.

(MOREPIC1) Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav has identified as the arrested operatives of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria as Sarthak and Anmol Sharma, both resident of Amritsar, while, the third arrested accused has been identified as Alatmis of Khazana Gate Amritsar. Police teams have also recovered white Verna car bearing registration number PB02EH0009, which was used in crime.

Notably, the fourth accused, identified as Deepak Arora, in the Ranjit Avenue Firing case was already arrested by the Punjab Police.(SUBHEAD)(MOREPIC2)  

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that following reliable inputs, a team of AGTF led by AIG Sandeep Goel under the overall supervision of ADGP Promod Ban, in a joint operation with Amritsar Commissionerate Police arrested Sarthak and Anmol from Zirakpur, while, third accused Alatmis was arrested from Samana. The operation was assisted by DSP AGTF Rajan Parminder.

He said that preliminary investigation has revealed that arrested accused were wanted in three previous firing incidents that took place in Amritsar, besides, providing logistics support, hideouts and weapons to the persons with criminal backgrounds.

A case FIR no 235 dated 16/11/2023 had already been registered under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act at Police Station Ranjit Avenue in Amritsar.
