The BJP has suffered the biggest defeat in the Peelibanga assembly constituency in Hanumangarh district where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed a rally during the campaign for which hundreds of people were also ferried from the neighbouring Sriganganagar segments.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had addressed a rally in Nohar. Amit Chachan of Congress in Nohar has been re-elected by a margin of 900 votes.

BJP MLA Dharmendra Mochi was defeated by Congress candidate Vinod Gothwal by 55273 votes, the highest margin in Hanumangarh district.

The BJP also suffered defeat in Hanumangarh, Sangria and Nohar. In Bhadra the saffron party had a close shave.(SUBHEAD)

Independent Ganesh Raj Bansal in Hanumangarh has won by around 10 thousand votes defeating Amit Sahu, son of former BJP minister Dr Ram Pratap and Congress veteran Vinod Chaudhary, the outgoing MLA.

Abhimanyu Poonia of the Congress is victorious in Sangria, he defeated BJP MLA Gurdeep Singh Shahpini by more than 42 thousand votes.

BJP’s only winner in the district is Sanjeev Beniwal who won by 1100 votes in Bhadra constituency.

Earlier, Narendra Modi had addressed the election rally in Hanumangarh in the 2018 election, even then BJP's Dr. Ram Pratap was defeated by an arch political rival Vinod Chaudhary of Congress.
