Annual function 'Guldasta' for the session 2023 of the junior wing was held with great zeal and enthusiasm at I.S. Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School Sector 21C Chandigarh.
A galaxy of dignitaries graced the function. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Anup Gupta, Mayor UT Chandigarh. Hon’ble Principal Mrs. Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat felicitated the worthy Chief Guest. Dr. Mrs. Agnese Dhillon – Secretary Managing Committee Dev Samaj Colleges and Incharge Dev Samaj Vidhya Vibhag, Shri Bruno Dhillon, Shri Iqbal Singh Dhillon, Shri Maanvinder Singh Mangat – Chief Administrative Officer – The Dev Samaj, Dr. Richa Sharma, Dr. Meena Chopra, Mrs Loveleen Bedi, Mr Sahil Abhi and Lt. Kesu Singh presided as Guests of Honour. Dr. Mrs. Jaspal Kaur Manager I.S. Dev Samaj School was also present on the occasion.
The cultural extravaganza began by invoking the blessings of Bhagwan Dev Atma, founder of the Dev Samaj through school prayer ‘Bhala Chahna’.(SUBHEAD)
The 2 days’ extravaganza was beautifully showcased through dazzling dances, couplets, nursery rhymes, ‘show and tell’ and skits related to the current issues of the society by the students of the junior wing. The students mesmerized the audience with the motivational song ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’, couplets related to the animal and birds Kingdom. The audience were enthralled by the Gujarati, Lazium and Koli dance presented by the students. The students sensitized the audience through their two impactful plays on ‘Swachhta’ and ‘Jalim Singh’.
The costumes, dialogues, stage decorations and efforts of the school were highly applauded by the spectators. The show not only enchanted all but it also brought to the fore the talent of the students.
The Chief Guest Shri Anup Gupta appreciated the hard work of teachers for showcasing the talent of small children. He stressed upon the role of schools in producing capable individuals who will become part of the society. He also motivated the students to keep their environment clean. Dr. Mrs. Agnese Dhillon & Shri Maanvinder Singh Mangat congratulated the school for the success of the function.
They also appreciated the collaborative efforts of the Management, Principal, Teachers and Students. They encouraged the parents to imbibe moral values of the Dev Samaj among the children to make their wards successful human beings and better citizens and thanked them for sparing their precious time to grace the occasion along with the Vote of Thanks.
The breathtaking journey culminated with the National Anthem.
