GAGANPREET TRAPPED BIHAR AS CHANDIGARH WON BY AN INNINGS AND 17 RUNS.

Gaganpreet Singh who took a total of seven wickets in the match helped UT boys to beat Bihar by an innings and 17 runs on day three at the  Vijay Merchant Trophy league match being played at Pune on Wednesday.  In reply to Chandigarh's 450/7 (declared) , Bihar collapsed at 267 followed by their miserable show in the second innings with 166 runs. 

Earlier, Bihar just added only 12 runs to its overnight score of 255/5 and was reduced to 267 against the splendid bowling show by Gaganpreet Singh (6/125) who took a total of six wickets in the innings. Ankan Latka (2/19) and Shilok Raina (2/27) took two wickets each. Skipper Adarsh Sinha (80) was the top scorer while Laliteshwar Bhadauria contributed 62 runs. 

Trailing by 183 runs, Bihar again led to a dismal start as half of the team went back with 71 runs on the board. Even after lunch, Bihar couldn’t  recover their losses and bundled out for 166. Shilok Raina (3/36) took the maximum of three wickets while Markandey Panchal (2/15) and Ankan Latka (2/44) shared two wickets each.

Chandigarh's next match is against Chhattisgarh on 16 December. 

CHANDIGARH'S SECOND CONSECUTIVE DEFEAT AT U23 T20, LOST TO GUJARAT BY 36 RUNS

UT girls suffered their second consecutive defeat at the BCCI Women's Under-23 T20 Trophy being played at Mumbai as Gujarat defeated Chandigarh by 36 runs. Chandigarh won the toss and decided to field first. Gujarat scored 107/8 runs in the stipulated twenty overs wherein unbeaten Shreya Mekani (38) was the top scorer while Patel Karina added 25 runs. Kashvee Gautam (3/15) took three wickets while Nandini Sharma (2/21) clinched  two wickets.

In reply, Chandigarh succumbed against Krishna Patel (5/14) and Shreya Mekani (3/11) and were all out for 71 runs in the 18th over. Aradhana Bisht scored the maximum 15 runs. 

Chandigarh's next match is against Uttarakhand on December 15.
