CELEBRATION OF 99TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF PADMA SHRI LATE NEK CHAND, CREATOR OF ROCK GARDEN WILL CONTINUE TILL DECEMBER 17

The 99th Birth Anniversary of Padma Shri Late Nek Chand, Creator & Director of Rock Garden celebration started at the Nek Chand Memorial in Rock Garden on Friday in the presence of the committee members.

The celebration started with the lighting of Diyas and the floral tributes paid at the wax statue of Late Shri Nek Chand by the Chief Guest Sh.Nitin Kumar Yadav, Worthy Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh Administration and other guests.

The program was followed by the various musical performances and other performers such as Bazigar, Nachar, Been-Jogi, Behrupia, Nagada from various parts of the country during the ceremony to promote the regional culture. The celebration will continue till 17th December, 2023 (Sunday) followed by musical chairs program for general public at Phase-III in Rock Garden.(SUBHEAD)

Millet Mela is also organized by the Rock Garden Society and inaugurated by the Chief Guest to celebrate the International Year of Millets 2023 and awareness for the general public in commemoration 99th Birth Anniversary of Padam Shree Late Nek Chand.

The Millet Mela will also continue in Phase-III from 15th to 17th December, 2023. In the evening, various musical performances will be organised by the Tourism Department, Chandigarh Administration for general public at Phase-III in Rock Garden from 15th to 17th December, 2023. The programmes are organized in coordination with Chandigarh Tourism Department and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC).
