ARNAV’S CENTURY KNOCK HELPED UT BOYS TO POST 291 AS ODISHA ON BACKFOOT WITH 43/8.

A brilliant century knock from Arnav Bansal (141) helped UT boys to post 291 against Odisha at the opening day of the Col CK Nayudu trophy match being played at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16 on Sunday. Earlier, Visitors won the toss and invited hosts to bat first.

Opener Arnav Bansal gave an excellent start with the top order. Host looked confident with 221/2 but failed to convert the mammoth score as the team bundled out for 291 in 67 overs. Bansal scored 141 runs with the help of 15 boundaries and five sixes while skipper Arjun Azad added 54 runs. Nehal Pajni contributed 29 runs while Akshit Rana made 28 runs. From the opposition, Satyakam Bhardwaj (5/81) took five wickets.

In reply, the trio of Harshit (3/13), Amit Shukla (3/19) and Nishank Birla (2/8) wreaked havoc and restricted Odisha to 43/8 before the stumps were drawn. No batsman could reach double figures. The team is still trailing by 248 runs. 

UT girls taste first win at Under 23 ODI, beats Kerala by 98 runs

After the first defeat against Madhya Pradesh in the Women's Under 23 ODI tournament being played in, Lucknow, UT girls bounced with a massive 98 margin win over Kerala on Sunday. Chandigarh won the toss and opted to bat first. Team justified the decision by posting 184/4 runs in 45 stipulated overs. Twinkle Pathak (48) was the top scorer while Parushi Prabhakar scored 46 runs. Skipper Aaradhana Bisht contributed 36 runs while unbeaten Gulnaz added 26 runs. In reply, Kerala fumbled against the duo of Rameeza Begum (4/14) and Ishana Chadha (3/10) and collapsed for 86 runs in the 27th over. Ansu Sunil (21) was the top scorer. 

UT boys faced crushing defeat by an innings and 293 runs against Tamil Nadu.

Chandigarh suffered a massive defeat of an innings and 293 runs against host Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy match being played in Coimbatore on Sunday. UT boys after being bowled out for 111 in their first innings faced a mammoth of 610/4 by the home side. Despite a steady start on the third day of the match, Chandigarh went down six wicket with109 runs on the board. UT lads failed to recover and wrapped up for 206 runs in the 71st over. Unbeaten Ankit Kaushik scored 50 runs while Mayank Sidhu added 38 runs. Gurinder Singh scored 36 runs. Sai Kishore took five wickets while Ajith Ram took three wickets from the opposition side.
