PANDEY'S TON OVERPOWERS UT BOYS AS KARNATAKA SCORED 268/3 AGAINST CHANDIGARH (267).

An unbeaten ton from Manish Pandey put hosts Karnataka to a commanding position against Chandigarh on the second day of Ranji Trophy match being played at Hubli on Saturday. Karnataka amassed 268/3 runs so far against 267 posted by UT boys.

Earlier, Chandigarh added only 48 runs to its overnight score of 219/6 and was reduced to 267. Karan Kaila (79) was the top scorer while Kunal Mahajan contributed 34 runs. Hardik Raj (4/56) and V Vyshak (4/77) took four wickets each. 

Karnataka led to a dismal start when Jagjit Singh Sandhu sent back Samarth (4) cheaply. Later, skipper Mayank Agarwal made a partnership of 70 runs with Nikin Jose. Karnataka lost the second wicket in the form of Jose (37) with 78/2.

Thereafter, Agarwal (57) departed leaving the side at 115/3. Karnataka had laid the foundation of a strong score of 268/3 with their unbeaten batters – Manish Pandey (102) and Hardik Raj (49) before the stumps were drawn. Pandey smashed 14 boundaries with three sixes in his century.
