To boost exports and explore cutting-edge food processing technologies, a delegation led by Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian showcased the state's vast potential in the sector at Gulfood 2024 in Dubai, a premier global food and beverage sourcing event.

The Punjab Agri Export Corporation (PAGREXCO) team highlighted top-quality food brands, attracting over 200 inquiries from around the world for products like chilli paste, tomato paste, tomato puree, organic basmati rice, and other processed foods.

“The Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government is dedicated to creating a favorable environment for both domestic and international investors in our thriving food processing sector,” said S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, inviting foreign investment, “We want to inspire entrepreneurs to build successful businesses in Punjab.”(SUBHEAD)

The state has already secured confirmed orders from traders in Nepal, the UAE, Canada, and the UK. Discussions with participants from Spain, Estonia, Italy, Russia, and others focused on adopting new technologies and products to benefit Punjab's farmers. Meetings with Basmati exporters also outlined a strategic plan to increase exports from the state.

The Agriculture Minister emphasized, “Outreach like this is crucial to elevate Punjab's agriculture and food processing industries. Our participation in a major global expo reflects the government's commitment to making food processing technology a key priority.”

In addition to business interactions, the Agriculture Minister also engaged with the Punjabi diaspora present in the Gulf, fostering connections and promoting a sense of community. These outreach efforts are crucial in creating a network of support for Punjab's agricultural and food processing sectors, both domestically and internationally.
