UTCA’s President Sanjay Tandon met former Test cricketers Venkatesh Prasad and Sunil Joshi who were on the Chandigarh tour.

(MOREPIC1)  In this courtesy meeting which lasted for about half an hour at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16, Sanjay Tandon appraised them about the journey of UT Cricket Association since its inception.

He said that in a very short span of time, city cricketers have exhibited their talent at international level. Be they are Raj Angad Bawa and Harnoor Singh at the Under-19 World Cup winning team or Kashvee Gautam, the most expensive player of the Women's IPL.

Tandon also presented before him the case study of the immense success of the street gully tournament organized last year. Prasad and Joshi, who were former selectors, praised the initiative of gully cricket and said that grassroots cricket is effective in enhancing the talent. Both conveyed their best wishes for street cricket to be organized this season also.
