WESTERN COMMAND WINS THE PRESTIGIOUS 17th GENERAL JJ SINGH AIR WEAPONS SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP – 2024

General JJ Singh Air Weapons Shooting Championship is a prestigious Army level competition conducted between all the Commands of the Indian Army. This competition is conducted annually by the Army Marksmanship Unit, which is the Centre of Excellence for Shooting in India.

(MOREPIC1)  Former Chief of Army Staff, General JJ Singh instituted 10m Air Rifle and Air Pistol Championship with the twin aim of improving shooting standards in the Army and spotting talent amongst young soldiers of Indian Army to compete at National and International level.

The 17th General JJ Singh Air Weapons Shooting Championship was conducted from 24 February to 02 March, 2024 at the Army Marksmanship Unit, Mhow.

In a highly competitive event, which saw the participation of the best shooters of the Indian Army, the talented shooters of Western Command Team proved their mettle and won Inter Command General JJ Singh Air Rifle and Air Pistol Trophy for the year 2023-24, besides the team also won the best Women’s Team Trophy. In the individual standings, the Shooters of Western Command won one Gold and two Silver medals.
