In a major breakthrough, Crime Branch, Chandigarh Police got a major success by arresting/apprehending twonotorious thieves involved in theft/ burglary. A Team of Crime Branch as per direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime & HQ, close guidance of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singhand under the supervision of Inspector Ashok Kumar arrested two accused namely Gurdeep Singh @ Ginni and Jatinder Singh @ Ashu involved in theft. With their arrest case FIR No. 45 dated 11.3.2024 U/S 380 added 411 IPC PS-36, U.T, Chandigarh was solved.
FIR No. 45 dated 11.3.2024 U/S 380 added 411 IPC PS-36, U.T, Chandigarh was registered on the complaint of Ms.RakhiRawat w/o Sh. Vinod Singh Rawat r/o VPO. KotdowerDistt. Podigushwal (UK) regarding the theft of two Mangal Sutra, one pair ear rings, two Mobile phone, cash Rs. 3000/-, ATM of SBI Bank and Aadhar Card from KhukrainBhawan Sector 35, Chandigarh, where she has come to attend the marriage of her relative.
On 12.3.2024 acting upon the secret information one Gurdeep Singh @ Ginni and Jatinder Singh @ Ashu were arrested from near Stadium, Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh and One Oppo mobile phone &two Mangal Sutra were recovered on the instance ofGurdeep Singh @ Ginni as well as one Itelmobile phone &one pair of ear ring (gold) was recovered on the instance of accused Jatinder Singh @ Ashu.
Gurdeep Singh @ Ginni S/o Sh. Ajaib Singh r/o # 275, Vill. Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh. Aged 28 years.
Gurdeep Singh has previously been arrested in 4 cases of theft of Police Station Sector 39 by Chandigarh Police.
Jatinder Singh @ Ashu S/o Jarnail Singh R/o # 248/1, Distt. Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh. Aged 30 years. has tainted past and has been sentence for 20 years in Murder case and presently on bail. Apart from this, he has previously been arrested in two cases of theft by Chandigarh Police and Panchkula Police respectively.
From the investigation it came to light that they are drug addict and had resorted to theft to meet their drug needs. Both the accused are sent to judicial custody.
