A WEEK LONG ‘MANGALOREAN FOOD FESTIVAL’ FOR FOOD LOVERS STARTS FROM APRIL 27

Amidst the festive fervour of the month of Baisakhi, Chandigarh city, which is a melting pot of cultures and communities, is going to get yet another flavour in form of a vibrant South Indian food festival! The Mangalorean Food Festival is being organized at Hotel Mango Grove, Industrial Area, Phase 1 where our food lovers will relish the exquisite and mouth watering Konkan & Kannada cuisines and remember this experience for their entire lives!

According to General Manager, Rajesh Chandel, “India is a paradise for food lovers, with so many options to choose from! In order to provide some new flavours to the food lovers of this region, we are excited to host a Mangalorean Food Festival at our hotel to bring the vibrant culture of the Kannada region to the city.’’ The food festival starts from April 27 and lasts till May 4. This festival curates specially selected dishes from Chikmanglore, Udupi, Mangaluru and other traditional towns of Karnataka, using their local ingredients.

(SUBHEAD)The festival is being spearheaded by Chef Sunil Kumar, who spent nearly two decades in various star rated properties in South India. He says- “In the process of putting the menu together, I was reminded of my time in Karnataka. Nearly two dozen delicious dishes will be served, with variety of both Veg and Non Veg food and I’m so excited for everyone to try them!‘’

The vegetarian starters consists of Ghasi Tikka, Mandakki, Udupi Idli Chaat, while non veg starters consist of Anjal Fry and Sukha Chicken. Served along with traditional Rasam, the main course includes dishes like – Chicken Chettinad, Kongunand Vella Curry, Manglorian Paneer, Makke Kai, Dal Fry, Ennegaye Masala, Pineapple Punjri, Inji Puli, Bisi Bele Bath, Chitrana Rice, Kerla Prantha and Akki Roti. Ofcourse, no feast can end without sweets, and patrons can look forward to Ada Paysam, Maysoor Pak and Sweet Pongal for dessert.

The dishes are prepared from the local ingredients brought from the hills of Malabar and Konkan which will provide Chandigarhians with an authentic and exciting culinary experience!
