Based on information by BSF intelligence wing regarding dropping of a packet of suspected heroin in border area of Amritsar, BSF troops promptly launched an extensive search operation in the suspected area on Wednesday.
During the search, at about 04:30 am, BSF troops successfully detected and recovered 01 packet (Gross weight- 530 Grams) of suspected heroin from a farming field of Village – Ratankhurd of District Amritsar. The narcotics were wrapped in yellow coloured adhesive tape and 02 illuminating strips and a nylon ring were found attached to the packet.
Reliable input of BSF intelligence wing and timely reaction of diligent BSF troops once again foiled a smuggling attempt to drop narcotics consignment from across the border, added spokesman of Punjab Frontier BSF HQ at Jalandhar.
