31ST MANGO MELA FEATURES OVER 300 VARIETIES OF MANGOES

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh said that the state government is providing training to encourage farmers to adopt organic farming so that they can increase their income through organic farming. The Chief Minister was addressing people on Ftiday at the 31st Edition of ‘Mango Mela’ held at Yadavindra Gardens in Pinjore.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the central government has allocated a separate budget to promote natural farming. The state government is also advancing this objective. He noted that through the fair, farmers would have the opportunity to adopt modern technology for organic farming. He urged farmers to adopt organic farming to bring prosperity to their lives and the lives of the citizens.

The Chief Minister visited every mango stall at the fair, gathering detailed information about them. The Chief Minister participated in cultural programs and honored the participants. He presented a memento to renowned musician Sh. Subhash Ghosh in recognition of his contributions.Tourism Minister, Sh. Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition at Craft Bazaar

The Craft Bazaar was another highlight of the fair, attracting a lot of shoppers. Artisans and weavers from Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and other states showcased their handloom and handicraft products.

Exhibition of Over 300 Varieties of Mangoes

At the Mango Mela, 300 different varieties of mangoes and mango products were showcased. The major commercial varieties of mangoes competing at the fair included Dasheri, Chausa, Langra, Amrapali, Bombay Green (Malda), Ratol, Mallika, Ambika, Ramkela, and others. Mango producers from all over the country participated in the fair, exhibiting various mango varieties.

Competitions Among School Students

The 31st edition of the fair featured various activities, competitions, and evening cultural programs. At the beginning of the fair, students participated in competitions such as Rangoli, drawing, poster making, and mango quizzes. The cultural programs included performances by the Nagada Party, Jangam Party, Bagpiper Group, Ektara Party, and various dance and singing performances.

Upcoming Events

On the second day of the fair, July 13, a new round of activities will be held from 10:00 AM onwards. Competitions for students will include group dance, story writing, slogan writing, nail art, and handwriting contests. Bollywood sensation Vinod Rathore will perform in the evening at 6:30 PM.

On the third day, July 14, school competitions such as group singing, drawing, best out of waste competition, mehndi competition, and mango eating contests will continue. In the evening, Punjabi singer Ashok Masti and comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi will entertain the audience.

The event was attended by Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Yash Garg, DCP, Himadri Kaushik, SDM Lakshit Sareen, and several other officers.
