YOUTH AMBASSADORS PROGRAMME FOCUSES ON A FIGHT THAT NEEDS TO BE ENCOURAGED FOR STUDENTS WELLNESS

The special Youth Ambassadors Programme, was organised recently at the launch ceremony of Sher-e-Ludhiana Team of Pro-Panja League 2024.

Powered by The Stories People, and organised by Sher-e-Ludhiana team, at Hotel Radisson Blu, Ludhiana, the day had special relevance for Aayush Lalwani, Founder, VCorp Action, who threw light on the relevance of such programmes, “The Youth Ambassadors Programme of Sher-E-Ludhiana team is an initiative to promote wellness as a way to a meaningful life, especially among youngsters.”

Conceptualised to encourage the youth into sports, Vishesh Prakash, founder, The Stories People, stressed, “This programme is a conscious attempt to bring the League and Sher-e-Ludhiana team to the doorstop of the sporting talent in schools.“

The day saw prominent schools from the city and around, coming together to meet and interact with the brand ambassador of Sher-e-Ludhiana team, The Great Khali, and the arm wrestlers from the team.

Emphasising on how sports can help the youth to focus on their mental and wellness health, The Great Khali, encouraged children in his very unique way, “Everyone should participate in sports, be it any sport and stick to it! Sports can help one stay focused and disciplined. The youth must stay away from addictions of any kind, and rather use their energies constructively through participating in sports.”

Gurbhej S.Nagi, Principal, Guru Nanak Public School, found the interaction extremely unique. “Our students enjoyed this unique opportunity of interacting with The Great Khali who was in town to support Sher-e-Ludhiana Team and promote the spirit of clean sports. I personally feel, interactions like such not only shape the mind of the students, but also help them learn skills which are out of their comfort zone.”

Five budding players of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, Ludhiana, under the leadership of School teacher Sardar Harjeet Singh Gill, got an opportunity to interact with The Great Khali.
Talking about how it was a great opportunity for students, the school Principal, Harmeet Kaur Waraich said, “Such interactions help budding players to grow further in the field of sports.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Gurshminder Singh Jagpal, Director Guru Ram Dass Academy, Ludhiana, shared, “The opportunity for our students to meet a sporting legend like The Great Khali and interact with top players was an unparalleled experience. This engagement not only inspired our young athletes but also provided them with invaluable insights into the world of sports. Your initiative is a commendable step in promoting sportsmanship and fostering the development of future champions.”

Ruhani Kohli, Director, La Blossoms School, Jalandhar, shared, “The event was superbly organised and truly inspiring. Meeting The Great Khali and the Sher-e-Ludhiana team greatly motivated our athletes, sparking renewed passion and dedication to their sports endeavours."

The programme concluded with five students from each of the participating schools getting a chance to participate in live arm wresting with arm wrestlers from Sher-e-Ludhiana - Kritika Das, Kashmiri Kashyap, Tawheed Shaikh and Shivanshu Kaushik.

The programme left the city schools looking forward to more such enriching sports interactions in the future that aim to bring direction and discipline to students, and shake them out of their comfort zone towards sporty success.
