TANVI SHARMA FROM PUNJAB CLINCHED THE GIRLS' SINGLES TITLE AT THE ALL INDIA YONEX SUNRISE

Tanvi Sharma from Punjab clinched the Girls' Singles title at the All India Yonex Sunrise 31st Krishna Khaitan Memorial Badminton Tournament, held from September 12 to 19, 2024, in Panchkula. This prestigious event, organized by the Express Shuttle Club Trust under the aegis of the Haryana Badminton Association, saw participation from 1014 junior boys and girls under the age of 19 from across India.

(MOREPIC1) On the concluding day, Tanvi defeated Medhavi Nagar of Haryana to win the title, dedicating her victory to her mother, a former national-level volleyball player and her coach.

In other significant results:

Boys’ Doubles: Vinayakram GP and Swastik Matharasan of Tamil Nadu won a hard-fought match against Sanskar Saraswat and Arsh Mohammad, 18-21, 21-19, 21-16.

Boys' Singles: Sanskar Saraswat defeated Ginpaul S of Delhi, 21-11, 21-12.

Girls' Doubles: Diya Bheemaiah (Karnataka) and Baruni Parshwal (Haryana) triumphed over Pragati Parida and Vishakha Toppo (Orissa), 21-14, 21-13.

Mixed Doubles: Lalramsanga C (Mizoram) and Vishakha Toppo (Orissa) defeated Mithileish P Krishnan (Puducherry) and Manya Ralhan (Punjab), 21-18, 21-14.

Sponsors for the tournament included Yonex Sunrise, Alchemist Group of Hospitals, Manav Rachna, Tagros, and Elite Shipping. Tournament Director Mr. Sanjeev Sachdeva, who has led the event for 31 years, and Col Rajeev Mehta, Joint Tournament Director, expressed gratitude to all sponsors and contributors.
