DELHI GTB HOSPITAL MURDER CASE: ACCUSED NABBED WITHIN 30 HOURS

THE TEAM METICULOUSLY SCANNED OVER 120 CCTV CAMERAS, COVERING MORE THAN 45 KILOMETERS OF ROUTES IN DELHI NCR. EXTENSIVE RAIDS WERE CONDUCTED AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN DELHI AND WESTERN UTTAR PRADESH IN PURSUIT OF THE CRIMINALS.

On 30th September 2024, a complaint was lodged at Police Station GTB Enclave, reporting an incident of road rage near Chintamani Chowk, G.T. Road, Delhi. The complainant, Rinku, s/o Dharamveer Singh, residing at near Madina Masjid, Budh Vihar, Mandoli, Delhi, stated that on the night of 29th September 2024, he, along with his two friends, Anurag, s/o Vijay Tiwari, and Aakash, s/o Hoshiyar, after enjoyed party returning towards home, at approximately 12:55 a.m., when they reached the red light in front of Jhilmil Metro Station, Rinku made a right turn.

Suddenly, another motorcycle with two men aboard, coming from Seemapuri on the wrong side of the road, collided with their motorcycle, causing all three to fall. Immediately following the accident, four more men arrived on two additional motorcycles, joining the two who had caused the collision. The group of six men started a physical altercation with complainant and his friends. In the midst of the scuffle, complainant managed to grab the keys from their motorcycles and put them in his pocket, announcing his intention to call the police.

At this, the assailants began to flee toward Shahdara.

Mr. Surendera Choudhary, IPS, DCP, Shahdara, said, the complainant and his friends managed to catch one of the attackers and struck him a few times. However, the situation escalated as the rest of the group returned, armed and threatening to kill them. During the attack, complainant sustained a wound to his left arm, while Anurag was injured by a knife. At that moment, a police patrol vehicle arrived, causing the attackers to flee toward Shahdara with their motorcycles. Consequently, an FIR was registered under No. 464/24, dated 30th September 2024, under sections 103(1)/3(5) of the BNS Act, and 25/27 of the Arms Act at Police Station GTB Enclave.

The team from Special Staff, Shahdara District was assigned the crucial task of investigating and solving this case.  The team meticulously analyzed the crime scene and initiated the collection of CCTV footage from the surrounding area. It was revealed that 06 individuals had committed the crime. Recognizing the challenge of apprehending such dangerous suspects, the team began scrutinizing CCTV footage starting from the scene of the crime. They collected data from numerous suspected locations and meticulously mapped the entry and exit routes of the suspects.

The investigation involved analyzing hundreds of CCTV cameras around the scene of the crime (SOC) to track the movements of the suspects. Additionally, technical surveillance was mounted, and secret informers were deployed. Local intelligence was also gathered to aid in identifying the accused. Based on secret information and persistent efforts, two accused persons namely Rohit Sharma, s/o Nandram Sharma & Arjun Sharma, s/o Aashu Sharma were apprehended.

MODUS OPERANDI & INTERROGATION:- During the interrogation of the accused, Rohit Sharma and Arjun Sharma, it was revealed that they were on route to Murthal, Haryana, to attend a party with their friends. In an attempt to save time, they chose to drive on the wrong side of the road. However, near Jhilmil Metro Station, their motorcycle collided with the victims' bike, triggering a road rage incident.

When the victims and their friends confronted the accused over the accident, the situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Joined by their friends, the accused began to assault the victims and, in the heat of the moment, resorted to using knives to inflict serious injuries. Upon noticing an approaching police vehicle, the group panicked and fled the scene on their motorcycles. This confession confirmed their involvement in the violent attack and clarified their motive for the reckless behavior.

PROFILE OF THE ACCUSSED PERSONS:- Rohit Sharma R/o Pratap Nagar near prem nagar chowk UP. Age-19 yrs,  Arjun Sharma R/o Pratap Nagar prem nagar chowk UP. Age-19 yrs. were apprehended.

Further interrogation and investigation of the case are underway to gather additional evidence, recovery and apprehend remain accused persons.
