The Sapta Shakti Command celebrated Vijay Diwas with pride through a solemn ceremony held at Jaipur Military Station to mark the historic victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1971 war. Wreath was laid at Prerna Sthal, Jaipur on behalf of Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command, to pay homage to brave hearts. All Ranks of the station and veterans were present on the occasion.
Vijay Diwas is celebrated annually on 16 December to commemorate the decisive victory of India in the 1971 war, which resulted in the creation of Bangladesh.
This monumental victory was achieved through superior military planning, flawless execution, exceptional coordination among the three services, and the indomitable bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces. The war culminated in the largest military surrender post-World War II when 93,000 Pakistani troops, led by Lieutenant General A.A.K. Niazi surrendered to Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Arora, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, in Dhaka.
